De’Sands Chef and Restaurateur grew up near Batam Culinary Center, Bengkong Golden City, a family of cooking artists who used their hands to create beautiful things, and a mother who was an exceptional cook.

Many of the dishes on our menu were inspired by meals prepared for food lovers in Batam, and our logo was inspired by the label that was stitched into each piece of art that came from part of asian mediterranean world. 

De’Sands Restaurant building architecture inspired by Santorini, one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. It was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape. The whitewashed, cubiform houses of its 2 principal towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater). They overlook the sea, small islands to the west and beaches made up of black, red and white lava pebbles.

At De’Sands, meat vegetables and noodles come together in a festive, stylish setting recalling the vibrant street markets of Asian and Europe. Inspired our experienced chef through these parts of the world, our restaurant brings authentic ingredients and techniques from many cultures, with a healthy dash of De’Sands unique brand of creativity.

In order to create a modern asian and mediteranian menu rooted in tradition, De’Sands and the culinary team had a lot of experience and development while observed, tasted and learned from the local people not only to capture the authenticity.
